About The Course

Prepare for the IELTS Academic writing test by completing Tasks 1 and 2 under timed conditions. To develop your test technique and perform better at the actual test, it is important to practise under similar conditions.

These writing practice tests will help you understand the test format and experience the types of tasks you will undertake in the actual test.

INSTRUCTIONS

 

  • This test takes 60 minutes.
  • Do the test in a quiet, private place away from distractions.
  • Make sure you have a pen and paper ready prior to starting the test as the timer starts immediately.
  • Do not pause or stop the in between the test.
  • There are two parts to the test. Read the instructions for each section carefully.
  • Complete both Task 1 and Task 2.
  • Spend about 20 minutes on task 1. Spend about 40 minutes on task 2. Remember Task 2 contributes twice as much as Task 1 to the Writing score.
  • Do not use a spell check or grammar check during or after your test so that your practice is as realistic as possible.
